of Spiro Agnew and Richard
Nixon, the Iranian
Hostage Crisis, the OPEC oil crisis, and the nuclear
accident at Three Mile Island. The Super70s kept us amused and
bewildered with bizarre stories like the shooting of skier Spider Sabich by Claudine
Longet and the secret visit by Elvis
to meet Richard Nixon in the White House. It also saw the reinstatement of
the death penalty with the execution
of Gary Gilmore and the worst
